William "Jay" Brown, age 62 of Ludowici, passed away at Wayne Memorial Hospital under the care of Hospice of South Georgia, on Saturday, September 24, 2011.
Bro. Jay was a native of Ft. Lee, Virginia and had lived in Ludowici for 27 years. He retired from Great Dane Trailer Manufacturers where he had worked for 37 years and was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Brown and his Parents, Bill and Elmyra Brown. He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Brown of Ludowici and four children, Jay Brown III of Ludowici; Michael Brown (Lori) of Tampa; Matthew Brown of Jesup; Diedra Deloach of Jesup, and 5 Grand Daughters.
Visitation will be at Faith Baptist Church from 12-2 pm on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Funeral service will be at Faith Baptist Church at 2 pm. Burial will be in The Hinesville Cemetery following service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Faith Baptist Church and all proceeds will be forwarded to the Brown family. Carter Funeral Home - Oglethorpe Chapel will be handling the arrangements
In Honor of the Brown Family and to allow students and faculty to attend the Funeral, our Administration has cancelled school for Tuesday, September 27th.
The Brown Family have been a major part of this ministry for more than thirty years and a true picture of faithfulness. After Bro. Jay retired he went on to be a servant of this ministry here at Faith as our Maintenance Man and Mrs. Brown has taught here at FBCA for 30 years.
Bro. Jay brought such joy to our staff and students for years. Even as he fought through the hurt that on most days ailed his body, he continued throughout his day with a smile on his face. He was a God-fearing Christian, a loving husband, a wonderful father to his five children, a proud grandfather of six grandchildren, a caring friend, and a faithful Church member. We will greatly miss him.
